Seafood choices for healthier oceans.

When available, the majority of PCC's seafood choices are classified in the green category. We do supply a limited amount of seafood from the yellow category. We will never carry seafood from the red category. A handy, pocket-sized version of this guide is available at every PCC store.

(This chart updated 5.28.2008.)

Please note: Some seafood on the "Best Choices" or "Proceed with Caution" lists may have a health advisory. Please see our Seafood health advisory chart (PDF) concerning these advisories.

Yellow — proceed with caution

These are good choices, but there are some concerns with the way they are caught or farmed. They are, however, better choices than items in the "Avoid" list.

Red — avoid (PCC does not offer product from this list.)

Avoid these products, at least for now. These fish come from sources that are overfished or caught or farmed in ways that harm other marine life or the environment.
