2008 — 2009 Board of Trustees

A nine-member board of trustees directs PCC. Trustees serve three-year terms. There are three open trustee positions each year. An election is held each May to fill those positions. The next PCC Board election will be held in May 2009.



board member Carol Binder: First term (first year). Term ends in 2011. Eligible for re-nomination.

Executive Director at Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority. Pacific Northwest native with more than 20 years of experience in finance and nonprofit development. West Seattle shopper.
board member Don DeSantis: Third term (third year). Term ends in 2009. Not eligible for re-nomination due to term limits.

Director of Tax for local CPA firm. Adjunct professor for Golden Gate University. PCC member for more than 25 years. Avid cross country skier and history buff. Kirkland shopper.
board member Buzz Hofford: Second term (first year) Term ends in 2011. Eligible for re-nomination.

General Manager of the Seattle University dining program. More than 30 years in the hospitality industry; enjoys cooking, traveling and camping with his family and friends. Greenlake shopper.
board member Kelly Horton: First term (second year) Term ends in 2010. Eligible for re-nomination.

Registered dietitian and food policy analyst and nutrition program planning consultant. Founder of the consulting organization Connect Nutrition. Nutrition Services Manager at Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Fremont shopper.
board member Julianne Lamsek: First term (first year). Term ends in 2011. Eligible for re-nomination.

Manages information technology and Web departments at KCTS 9 Public Television. PCC Cooks volunteer since 2005. Born and raised in Seattle. Climber and bicycle commuter. Greenlake shopper.
board member Alexander Rist: Third term (second year).Term ends in 2010. Not eligible for re-nomination due to term limits.

Economist with King County Solid Waste Division. Worked also on the creation and implementation of a corporate environmental policy for Co-op Switzerland. Fremont shopper.
board member Chantal Stevens: Third term (second year). Term ends in 2010. Not eligible for re-nomination due to term limits.

Countywide Community Forums Program Manager with the King County Auditor's Office. Former executive director of Sustainable Seattle. Long time Northwest resident who loves to cook and garden. Issaquah shopper.
board member Stephen Tan: First term (third year). Term ends in 2009. Eligible for re-nomination. Current board chair.

Partner at Cascadia Law Group, a Seattle-based firm practicing environmental and natural resources law, specializing in environmental litigation. Fremont shopper.
board member Julie Tempest: Second term (third year). Term ends in 2009. Eligible for re-nomination.

Marketing Consultant for Panther Creek Cellars, an Oregon-based winery. Former Director of Business Development for The Hartman Group, a consumer research and consulting firm specializing in the organic and natural industry. Greenlake shopper.
