The organic advantage: evidence confirms organic food is more nutritious
Is organic food more nutritious? Is it worth the extra expense?
The evidence is mounting that the answer is yes, there is sufficient quality research now to confirm the nutritional superiority of organic foods.
Research also is showing significant nutritional declines in important minerals, protein and vitamin C as food crops have been bred primarily for yield, not nutritional quality. The use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides in non-organic, chemically based farming over the past 50 years apparently is to blame.
